This series of architectural conflations grew out of the dual life I lived for 30 years travelling between Leverett, MA and Lower Manhattan, from 1978-2009.  It evolved from an assignment I developed for the AP Art curriculum at the Spence School in 1999-2000 utilizing the historic wall paper in the original school dining room (with all of its ethnic and racial stereotypes) as a jumping off place – “Scenic America”, designed in 1834 in France. (see “Vues d’Amerique du Nord”, Jean Julien Deltil, for Zuber & Cie, Rixheim, France)
